Talented and beautiful actress Poorna, who has scored hits with horror films such as 'Avunu' and 'Raju Gari Gadhi', seems to have become the first choice to play lead in the horror films.
A new horror film starring Poorna in titular role has gone on floors on Wednesday. Senior filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao and noted producer C Kalyan attended the launching ceremony of this film titled 'Avanthika'. Film's director Raj Balla said that 'Avanthika' will be a big hit in the league of horror films like 'Arundhathi'.
Post the success of 'Avunu', Poorna was heard to have been flooded with offers to act in horror films. Her follow up to 'Avunu', titled 'Avunu 2', turned out to be a flop but offers didn't stop coming her way. Two Tamil horror films starring Poorna are in post-production stage already.
Filmmakers, who can't rope in top league actresses and who don't like to risk with new faces seem to be relying on Poorna. On the other hand, with not so good offers to play the conventional heroine, Poorna might be signing every other horror film that comes her way.
