Reshoots Saved Premam?

According to grapevine, reshoots have saved Naga Chaitanya-Shruti Haasan starrer Premam a lot. Apparently, the makers weren't so happy with the way film shaped up and the film had to undergo reshoots that said to have worked in favour of the film. In addition to reshoot, the scissoring of the film by chopping few scenes seems to have rescued the romantic caper.

Before the film's release the producers were on tenterhooks as the film's budget was shot up than initially expected. Even Chaitanya's market wasn't so happening as the actor had his last hit with Tadakha in 3 years. Though he has Manam, its success can't be attributed to Chaitu alone as the major share of the film's success goes to Nagarjuna and Nageswara Rao and above all, its writer-director Vikram Kumar should get maximum credit.

The response at the ticket windows is jubilant in multiplexes and the film is making decent noise in B & C centres as well. Another advantage for Premam is the below par performance of its Dasara competitors including Hyper.

On the whole, Premam turned out to be the success that is long overdue for Chaitu and it seems to be possible with the reshoots.
