Filmmaker Shankar has been working a long time on Rajinikanth's Robot 2.0 and plans to release in mid-2017. In an extension to 2010's money-spinner 'Robot', the technically brilliant filmmaker has focused immensely in every detailing to cater beyond the expectations. Having made on a whopping 350 crore budget, the 2.0 is arguably the highest budget film in India.
Following the latest tweet from the beautiful Amy Jackson, it can be learned that shooting of the much-awaited Robot 2.0 is finished. 'With @superstarrajini himself, it's a wrap for our Robot 2.0 schedule!' tweeted Amy. The science fiction project has Bollywood star actor Akshay Kumar donning the antagonist role and he too is big fan of Thalaiva.
The previous film from Shankar 'I' (2015) was highly compared with Rajamouli's Baahubali and you very well know result. Leave aside Baahubali, the film completely failed to carry the craze generated by its trailer. Undeterred with it, Shankar is now aiming at Baahubali's sequel 'The Conclusion' in 2017. So, what remains to be seen is whether 2.0 can succeed in surpassing the magnanimity of Baahubali-2, which would finish its shoot in November.
The tri-lingual (Telugu, Tamil and Hindi) 2.0 has music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Anthony. Subaskaran Allirajah is rolling out this magnum opus under Lyca Productions.
