Malayalam film Oppam, a crime-thriller, which released in early September, is one of the biggest hits of this year in Mollywood. Directed by directed Priyadarshan with Mohanlal as lead, this film has received extremely positive response from audiences and also set an opening week record in Kerala by collecting 12.6 crores.
Now that Oppam had a superb business in Kerala, 'Overseas Network Entertainment' has grabbed Telugu rights of the film. B Dilip Kumar of Overseas Network and Mohanlal, who's very much impressed with the script, jointly want to release this film in Telugu.
Even though, they grabbed the Telugu rights, there wasn't any official news regarding whether the movie will be dubbed or remade in Telugu. But a widespread speculation is underway that Oppam will be re-executed in Telugu, starring Akkineni Nagarjuna in the role of Mohanlal.
Yes, the makers of the film are convinced with Nagarjuna portraying Mohanlal's role and are planning to reach out Manmadhudu as he is very much interested in experimental roles, at least in his recent movies like Oopiri, Soggade & Manam. We have to wait and see whether he will accept the role or not.
