While 4 movies competed at the box office during Sankranthi festival season, as many as 6 films are locking horns this Dasara season. Have a look at the box office prospects of the films based on the response to the promotional material and star power.
Hyper:
Energetic star Ram's 'Hyper' is the first to hit screens, on September 30. The trailer has already impressed movie lovers and the pre-release business was the best in Ram's career. Said to be a full on commercial film with an underlying social message, Hyper is expected to enjoy the first week unopposed run before the other films hit screens.
The planning of 14 Reels Entertainments, Ram's fan base and Raashi Khanna's sensual appeal are the major strengths for 'Hyper' which is expected to dominate the box office if it can offer good content.
Premam:
Slated for release on October 7, this Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan starrer romantic drama has good buzz in its favor. Being the remake of a blockbuster film, Premam already has high expectations and the casting was another masterstroke. This film is expected to the first preference for the audiences who seek romantic genre movies.
Eedu Gold Ehe:
Sunil's last film 'Jakkanna' was an average affair and he is now back with another comic caper. The trailer doesn't provide much difference from his earlier films but the mystery element will be the key factor if executed well. The glamor of Sushma Raj and Rocha Panai, the reliable name of Veeru Potla are major strengths for this movie.
Abhinetri:
Tamanna is trying a horror comedy for the first tine but Telugu audiences have been heavily bombarded with this genre films in the recent times. The buzz is not as much as the makers would have liked but the festival season might attract audience to theatres.
Mana Voori Ramayanam:
Prakash Raj has done the director's hat and also played the lead role in this village-based comic caper. As of now, buzz is low for this film but it is expected to pick up after its release as the trailer looked promising.
Jaguar:
Despite the high profile promotions, this star-studded action entertainer, which also marks the debut of former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil, hasn't generated any buzz. Box office prospects are very bleak for this film.
Availability of theatres will also play a crucial role for the box office performance of these films. Let's see who emerges the winner.
