It is impossible to imagine the All Time Highest Grossing Telugu films' list without a movie of mega heroes in Top 3. But, it has now turned into a reality.
NTR Jr's latest blockbuster 'Janatha Garage' has defied the reviews to emerge the 3rd biggest commercial hit of Telugu cinema. Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' and Mahesh Babu's 'Srimanthudu' are at top 2 places. This is the first time in 15 years that no film from mega family is found in Top 3. This rare phenomenon happened 15 years ago, in 2001.
For a brief period of a few months in 2001, Balakrishna's 'Narasimha Naidu', 'Samarasimha Reddy' and Tarun's romantic blockbuster 'Nuvve Kavali' were in Top 3. However, Pawan Kalyan soon raced into the Top 3 with his then biggest hit 'Khushi', which was released in April 2001. Megastar Chiranjeevi also took back his crown with the industry hit film 'Indra' in 2002.
Now, all eyes are on Pawan Kalyan's 'Katamarayudu', megastar's 150th film, Ram Charan's 'Dhruva' and Bunny's next film 'DJ'. Mega fans hope that one of these four films becomes a gigantic hit and brings back the lost glory.
